Written and recorded one night in late autumn MMXXII at Blackwood Studios.
Solstice should be seen as the counterpart to last year's Equinox track.
All music and lyrics by Steve Blackwood.
lyrics
The leaves have fallen on cold damp earth
The sign of darkness and rebirth
With the fading glow of lunar old
The death of autumn now unfolds
The fading light of the auburn haze
Those gleaming rays begin to fade
In the cold eerie mist at dusk, gloaming
And in it's glory I am roaming
Spectral power
Waxing and waning
Astral magick
Glowing and growing
Entrancing me
Waxing and waning
Spellbound
Glowing and growing
The sun illuminates
The gifts of the world
But the moon reveals
The power of the unknown
A shining beacon of life
Or a deadly omen of death
And in the forests and woodlands
It's radiance is shown
Spectral power
Waxing and waning
Astral magick
Glowing and growing
Entrancing me
Waxing and waning
Spellbound
Glowing and growing
Eradiating over the mountain peaks
Shining atop the highest trees
Nocturnal entities
Now roam free
Enraptured by the lunar spell
This winter kingdom we doth dwell
This is our frozen realm

While I’m a bigger fan of revenant marquis than I am of lamp of murmuur, his side of the split hits hard. Both Revenant Marquis and Lamp of Murmuur are some of the best one man metal bands. Hunter McMillin

Raw black metal can be pretty great, and even more so when it's got great melodies. This record follows that recepie, and the result is one of my favorite black metal albums of the year so far!
Also, bonus points for throwing in a sample from the best yugoslav war song at the start of track 2. honeycombguy

Got the CD in the mail the other day, and I'm so glad I ordered it. I'm happy to support a kick ass band. Fantastic black metal album. Every song is awesome. I can't say enough good things about it. When Bandcamp runs out of copies (and they will), Hells Headbangers store has more cd's available. birchbricker
